The Bad Side Of Cosmetic Surgery

By | December 2, 2009

To many, plastic surgery is something that changed their life. Every person born with a cleft palate or with a severe deformity that was able to have it fixed by plastic surgery no doubt will sing its praises. Some people use plastic surgery for medical issues like peast reductions, but for the most part plastic surgery is used to help people change things that they simply do not like about themselves. And as such, though there are positive aspects to plastic surgery, there is also a sinister bad side of cosmetic surgery that many people simply push under the rug.

It Could Kill You

The scariest bad side of cosmetic surgery is that it can, indeed, kill you. While the percentage of people who die getting plastic surgery is rather low, the fact is that people still die every year from seemingly routine plastic surgery. Recently a celepity’s mother lost her life on the operating table when undergoing something as routine as a tummy tuck. To many people, even the slight risk of death outweighs any positive aspects that could be gotten from plastic surgery. However, this bad side of cosmetic surgery does not always deter people from going under the knife. Some people are so distraught about their appearance that this major and lethal bad side of cosmetic surgery does nothing to deter them from getting it done.

Bad Outcomes

Another bad side of cosmetic surgery is that there can be very bad outcomes to your plastic surgery. You may go in for a nose job and expect for your nose to look one way when it comes out. However, it is very possible to come out with your nose looking completely different than you expected it to. A doctor telling you that your nose is going to look one way is simply an educated guess. Until he or she gets into the operating room and sees exactly what there is to work with, there is absolutely no way to know how the final product will look. This is a bad side of cosmetic surgery because the outcomes can be devastating to some people. If you go in for a peast augmentation and your peasts end up being uneven or larger than you expected, it is going to be a huge disappointment. And it is not like you can simply return the product you are stuck with it. Since it is not free cosmetic surgery, you want to get your money’s worth. Sometimes, plastic surgery just is not worth risking the bad side of cosmetic surgery for.
